North Fork Family Fun
When Patrick and I first started dating (awhile ago…), I was fascinated by where he lived. It felt so small town and far removed from the rest of New York than what I was used to. Little did I know I would fall in love with the North Fork they way that I have. Our second home.
You’ve heard me say a few times that we spend significant time up north during the summers (just once or twice). So, I figured it was time that I round up our almost daily go-to spots.
Love Lane Kitchen: Our favorite brunch spot. Lobster Roll is worth every penny. No matter what time of day it is! It gets crowded fast. Plan ahead!
Jason’s Vineyard: Good wine, great outdoor area for kids - complete with farm animals for entertainment! We’ve been to (almost) every vineyard and I have found this one to be the easiest for the family.
Black Sheep: Carbs on carbs - the best bagels! Formally Goldberg’s, this is a morning go to.
Meeting House: This one took me a minute to come around to but if you need fresh meats for a barbecue or a good deli sandwich pull over to this little spot.
Jedediah Hawkins: The perfect little date spot - complete with a speakeasy! It’s got a gorgeous outdoor patio area (when it’s not too hot), and it’s an inn, so you could have a little getaway here easily!
Briermere: Pie on pie on pie! Line gets long quick for these unreal pies - they must have 20 flavors! I’ve never had one I did like, but the peach cream is out of this world.
Harbes: This one is definitely big for the fall folks but is also open in the summer for some fun with the kiddos!
Aquarium: Rainy day? The Aquarium in Riverhead is a good size with plenty to occupy the kiddos for a few hours without being too exhausted from walking too much. Pro tip: if you’re going to go a few times it’s more cost effective to become a member.
We’re always sad when our North Fork time comes to an end but look forward to the next time we get to be here!
Cheers
