2020 Goals
Goals, resolutions, whatever you call them, I have come to learn that they are important to propel us into the year ahead. This past year I don’t think I followed through on a single one of mine. I hit the year running and it was a cluster. I would like 2020 to be different. So, in addition a to sharing them here, the team and I are doing both personal and team goal settings and I purchased a handy dandy planner from Golden Coil to help me check in on how I am doing on my personal goals.
So this year here are my 5 goals (drum roll please):
More art and music: Two things that I enjoy most! I love concerts and seeing exhibitions both at a local gallery level as well as on a national museum level. But I don’t remember the last time I’ve done either.
Family dinner once a week: This one is a goal within a goal because it brings my family together for dinner which we have not been doing every week, but it will also get me back in the kitchen to hopefully cook most of these meals and I truly am so happy when I am cooking!
Exercise 3x week: This one is AMBITIOUS and I know it. But I am putting it into the universe so that I am reminded often and hopefully find the time for it. We just got the Pelaton so here’s to me actually using it.
Prep for my week, every week: This might be the most important one because I have found that when I take the time on Sunday nights or first thing Monday morning and I prep for my week, look at my calendar, check in with my people, it kick starts the week to being more successful (as I’m sure you all knew and I am late to this game).
Be ok with doing nothing: This one I am terrible at. I often find that time is wasted if I am not doing something. So I want to find little pockets of time to just sit and have my tea without also emailing or play with the kids or watch my Grey’s in bed for 40 minutes, once a week. Yes that is all doing SOMETHING but it’s not work, or chores, or planning or requiring more thinking than just executing that something.
I am hoping to break each down to month goals so I can better check in on them with and maybe even provide an update halfway through the year. Here’s to making 2020 the year of self growth!
