Easy, Kid Friendly July 4th Desserts

How have we made it to July already? We are finally enjoying some rest time up north in NY for awhile with family and soaking in the summer sun (our of the DC swamp).

4th of July is usually spent on the Eastern Shore with our extended group of friends (aka the Framily), but due to babies, pandemics and general life interfering with plans, we could not gather this year. Our day is usually spent by the pool, sipping rose, with the kids running around like crazy people, only to be topped off with a crab feast.

Typically our big July 4th treat is just some ice cream or bomb pops, but this year I wanted to find some fun treats that I could make with the kids. Each one of these is kid friendly to eat and kid friendly to make - an activity and a snack.

1. Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches

Possibly our easiest hack here! Just take your favorite ice cream sandwich and add some fun red, white and blue sprinkles.

2. Star Spangled Cupcakes

Grab your store bought favorite cupcakes, a little extra icing and rework the top. You can add some fruit or or sprinkles to bring in the patriotic flare.

3. Americana Shortcakes

Why stop with just strawberries and blueberries on top when you can add some holiday sprinkles to classic! Cake - good! Whipped cream - good! Festive flare - good!

And, if you're looking for a great napkin set for the holiday, these are on Amazon for a great price!

Would love to hear about more easy, yummy July 4th treats you are whipping up!

Cheers
