lately. fostr collaborative.

Soooo admittedly I’ve been a little busy and neglecting the blog recently. Mostly because work has been so busy but also because two things basically happened at the same time, 1. I became the co-manager of Fostr Collaborative (more on that below) and 2. We found out we are having a baby girl in November - SURPRISE! (more on this in posts to come I’m sure). So, I have been really just barely making it through these days between running business, attending to clients, raising a toddler, nurturing the growth of another and just life.

But, I wanted to take a minute to share what I am most proud of in the last month and that is Fostr Collaborative. A brand new studio space that is home to a collective of creative women in the fields of beauty, blogging, art, photography, event planning, consulting and more! And I am so freakin proud of it!

The whole thing happened rather quickly when Laura Metzler asked me to jump on board to be the co-owner with her. Her and I have a great work/life blanched relationship and I am so grateful to be on this journey with her. And… we now have 11 other women that are amazingly awesome, creative and collaborative that we make up the membership of Fostr Collaborative (here they are).

The space is a large, incredibly lit, almost loft style office space in the heart of Georgetown. It still amazes me every time I walk in that I get to work there every day. Both of us have a more minimal aesthetic, Laura even more so that me, so the space is very white, only accented by the forest of plants we have scattered and our banquette area.

On May 9th we officially launched the space and collaborative with 80+ family and friends and it was awesome! I can’t wait to see what beautifully creative projects some out of the space and how the members and those renting it use it!
