Family Room Sectional: The Hunt for A Family Couch

Parenthood is a beautiful journey filled with precious moments, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges… enter my family room sectional. As a mom of three energetic kids, I understand the importance of creating a warm and comfortable space where the whole family can relax and unwind together. We received our current sectional as a hand me down when we moved into the house two years ago. And it has done us good but when we received it, it was 20 years old, and after three babies and two dogs abusing it for two years, it’s time to burn it.

But sectionals are so expensive!! And I’m having trouble finding one for that price that I can justify potentially needing to replace it again in a few years (because the three kids and two dogs are not going anywhere). So my search has now been a year long…

Some things to consider are, first and foremost, durability is key. Looking for materials and colors that are not only easy to clean but also resistant to stains and spills, making them ideal for a family with little ones.

Comfort is paramount. Which is why it’s hard to get rid of this one because it is comfy! Patrick sinks into it and loves it. Also, I look for sectionals with deep seats and maybe even a down cushion option, providing the perfect spot for snuggling up with my kids or even sneaking in a quick wine break at night.

Lastly, it’s gotta look good girl! You know that I am picky about colors and textures. It’s got to fit the vibes. Mama can’t have an ugly couch. An IG has been influencing me like crazy. Here are the top suggested on the inter webs:

Grandinroad

West Elm

West Elm
Castlery

Arhaus

Crate and Barrel

7th Avenue

Soooo, finding the right sectional sofa for a family room with three kids feels impossible. Would love some help from my people on this one! Please share if you have opinions on these or more.

Cheers,
