Wedding Day: Final Walkthrough Tips

We are stretching our sea legs and getting back into the groove of things around here with three beautiful spring weddings ahead. This year, as compared to years passed, we have had a great gap between weddings and have basically cut our weddings in half. It has been nice to slow things down, but we are SO excited to get things rolling again with some fabulous couples!

We have everything from Month of Coordination to Full Service planning this year. What's my favorite? Well that's a secret I'll never tell.

Regardless of the package that you book, one of the most crucial milestones that we plan and jump in on is the final walkthrough. Over the years we have developed a formula and checklist for the final walkthrough that has been working like.a charm! There are many questions and details to review during this time with you venue and vendors, but we have found that there are three key questions that need and answer before the end of the walkthrough.

I am sure that for many couples, the final walkthrough seems overwhelming, hence why we obviously recommend a planner. But if you are not able to have a planner, then here are the top questions we recommend you review during the walkthrough.

1. Flow for guests: Where do they enter or exit? How do they move through the evening? Where are the check points they need to hit for that flow to work? And bathroom locations etc.

2. Flow for vendors: How do they get in and out and support the day? Do they have space that supports the work they need to do? Is it out of the way of guests?

3. Rain plan - womp womp womp! Annoying but necessary. You need to be able to answer every question for what happens if it rains too! Mother nature is not always on the sunny side.
