Teriyaki Ground Chicken Recipe
Honesty time here.... I had every intention of making this delicious looking recipe but, well the day got away from me and the plans changed for the evening, so I had to pivot. I was always intending to sub the chicken for ground chicken instead. My kids love a good ground meat bowl type dinner! But, the sauce never ended up happening from scratch, so instead I utilized our two favorite Wegmans Asian inspired sauces - Stir Fry Sauce and Sesame Garlic.
If you have been following along at all over the last million years, you would know that our family also loves a good onion mixed in with literally anything. Patrick and I are big onion freaks! So again, I improvised on this one and it was easy and delicious. I utilized my new Wok as well.
Side bar on the Wok. I have been wanting one for YEARS. Literally years. It was just always one of those things where I would forget, or they were not in the budget at the time etc. But I finally got one as a gift for Christmas from my in-laws and it has been the gam changer I always envisioned it would be.
Ok, back to the recipe.
For the family of five here is the fast and loose recipe for this delicious dish:
2 packages of ground chicken (or turkey)
1 large onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame seeds to taste
Green onion to taste
Large head of broccoli
And now how to make it in your wok:
Oil up your walk as desired, combine ground meat and onion on high heat - stir in wok until meat starts to brown
Add 2 tablespoons each of Stir Fry and Sesame Garlic sauce (or to taste, sometimes we like it saucier and add more!)
Salt, pepper and sesame seed to taste - turn down to medium heat.
While that is all blending microwave 2 bags of brown rice
Once meat and onions are coated in sauce and browned to desired color, remove the blend from the wok
Add 2 more tablespoons of sauce to the wok and cook / toss for your broccoli until cooked
Prepare your plate and sprinkle desired amount of green onion
Enjoy! Cheers,
E
