My Wedding Timeline Do's

We get so many amazing couples that consider every little detail of their day and have a really good sense of what they want the timeline and details to be for the day.

When we are working with our couples to create their wedding day timeline there are always staples that we consider working in or advice we give them to maximize their time with each other and their important people on the day.

Buffer an extra hour for getting ready: this allows you to take a minute with your crew, to breathe and start your timeline for the day relaxed, not pinching minutes and stressed on what’s happening next!

First look: We cannot recommend this enough! There are some couples that it just does not work for due to religious or personal reasons which we respect, but to maximize your time after the ceremony to be at cocktail hour, do a first look and get those special group photos pre-ceremony.

Wedding party introductions: there is a brief 10-15 minutes post cocktail hour, pre reception when other guests are being seated that you can gather with your wedding party before being introduced - one last toast, one last group hug before the party really starts.

Sunset photos or reception break: We highly recommend stealing away for sunset photos with your photographer or if sunset isn’t an option due to time of year, just take a 10 minute break or walk around the venue together. Grab your drink and soak it all in (while being documented of course)!

Full first dance: Most couples opt to cut their first dance song in half because they don’t want the full 4-5 minute spotlight on them. But TAKE THE SPOTLIGHT! Unless you’re dancing to Taylor’s ten minute version of All to Well…

We have worked with couples that have and have not incorporated these suggestions into their day and ultimately we make every timeline work, but our goal is to make sure our couples enjoy the day together and get moments to enjoy every minute of the day.

Cheers!
