Honey Garlic Asian Style Chicken Noodles
I LOVE Asian cuisine - Japanese, Chinese, Thai - you name it! Recently I have been trying to bring more of these flavors into our meals at home. I typically find recipes online that sound interesting and then always alter them slightly... or sometimes a lot! This one was one of Patrick's recent favorites.
Patrick is not a huge rice fan so when we do make Asian cuisine I typically use noodles instead of rice. So this is the Honey Garlic Chicken Noodle recipe of your dreams!
Ingredients:
4 chicken thighs (boneless and skinless)
4 tbsp cornflour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup of honey
1/3 cup chicken stock
3 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp red chili oil
1 tsp red chili flakes
3 tbsp green onion (scallion)
1 box of udon or ramen noodles - I recommend: Noma Lin
Recipe:
Coat chicken thighs in thin layer of cornstarch, salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss.
Heat large skillet (preferably a cast iron - always!) on high heat.
Cook chicken thighs on both sides until golden brown and firm.
Meanwhile, put noodles on the stove and cook to specific directions.
With chicken still in the pan, add butter until melted then add garlic cloves and stir. Turn down heat to medium.
Make the sauce by mixing honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, soy sauce and red chilli oil in a bowl and stir well until combined.
Add sauce to pan and bring but up to high heat until boiling, stir occasionally. Let sit until sauce thickens.
Remove, pour over noodles, sprinkle green onion and serve.
It is beyond delicious!
Cheers!
