Top 5 Books of 2020 + Top 5 to Read in 2021

With two kids, a new house, multiple businesses, and just day-to-day chaos, it is no surprise I rarely catch a moment to sit down and read a book! Although I do not read as much as I would like, my list of books to read is long because of recommendations from many friends including our Team ECC associate Kallie!

Today Kallie is chiming in on her top 5 books she read in 2020 that she thinks you (and I) should read when we have a moment and what is on her “to Read” list!

Reading is one of those things I always say I want to do more of, but if I’m being totally honest, it seems to be the first goal to get buried under a pile of excuses and was tainted from the amount of reading that was required in school. When the pandemic hit,  I was living alone and had exhausted the binge worthy Netflix shows. therefore, I had zero room for excuses and I knew it was time to focus in and read more.

If you know me, you know I don’t like to half ass anything, so, I downloaded probably 10 new books on my Kindle (BUT ALSO SUPPORT LOCAL BOOKSTORES WHEN POSSIBLE) based on reviews and recommendations from friends that ranged across every genre from fiction and romance to self- betterment. Below is are my recs!

Top 5 Books I read in 2020:

Untamed by Glennon Doyle –  WOW! Hands down, my favorite book of 2020! This is a book I will reread again and again and I do not like rereading books I also do not take notes or annotate when I read, but I had to buy a physical copy of this bo…

Untamed by Glennon Doyle –  WOW! Hands down, my favorite book of 2020! This is a book I will reread again and again and I do not like rereading books I also do not take notes or annotate when I read, but I had to buy a physical copy of this book to markup! This story left me inspired and showed me how to take the steps to be brave and find oneself! I think it is a must read for women all ages and ways of life.

The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand – This book (and the other 5 Elin Hilderbrand books I read this past summer) was the perfect beach read that kept me captivated and guessing with its mystery and love story focused plot! Elin Hilderbrand is a p…

The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo – Thank goodness for a flight delay when heading home for the holiday’s because I could not put this book down and needed any excuse to bury my nose and read this amazing story! In short, this novel is a multigenerational story about four adult daughters and their parents and how a buried secret and life choices threaten to shatter this seemingly perfect family.

Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell – I love a mystery/thriller and this book is a page turner! Along the lines of Gone Girl and Girl on the Train this is a story of a young girl, Ellie,  who disappears and the twists and turns her family experien…
