The 5 Things I Had to Have for the New House

The house content is ramping up and you all are loving what I have been sharing so far. And so much more to come!

When we bought the house we immediately knew we wanted to do 3 things:

  1. Hardwood floors throughout

  2. Paint refresh in most rooms

  3. Painting the cabinets white

So with those big ticket items, we knew that much of the design and decor of the space would have to wait a bit longer. Of course, if you know me, you know that I cannot wait to make a space look and feel like home (in face as I sit in my half empty dining room right now I am going crazy dreaming up what furniture will go in here). So what were the top items that I snagged before moving in and what is their status?

Our Entryway Light: This one was HUGE heart eyes from day one. Black contemporary said it all for the front grand staircase entryway from Shades of Light.

Hadley’s Fun Curtains: I knew I wanted Hadley's room to be colorful and bright from day one, so these curtains are the perfect pop of color for the queen's fun space!

Family Room Media Console: A little more of a traditional space in the house, I wanted warm wood tones in here and this Crate and Barrel console is next up on the list to purchase.

My zen bed frame: For the last 5 years my bed frame has been a deep blue and while I love it and it was perfect for our city home, I wanted some more calming and muted for the new house. This one is gorgeous and so well priced!

The Kitchen Statement Light: This one was a big pick because you can see it from the front door. I searched high and low for the right size and admittedly wasn't even sure I loved it first but it's perfect!

We are so far from done with this house and I promise to keep you posted as we pick and choose the perfect pieces for each space. And if you aren't following on IG yet then that's the best spot to see things happening IRL @elizabeth_carberry !

Cheers
