Tablescape Hacks for Thanksgiving

People often find that what I do is not realistic every day but rather only when you are hosting a large event or wedding, or have a social media following in the thousands. Not true! When I am “off duty” I promise you my tables capes still look just as pretty but on more realistic budget and timeline than what I have dedicated to clients for their events. I adapt to my family’s budget and a busy mama’s timeline to still make it feel special!

So, I designed an easy Thanksgiving tables cape for you to replicate on a minimal budget and with little extra time.

This tablescape actually boils down to just 3 elements.

Element Number 1: Table Runner

This can be anything from an old sheet that you cure up into thin sheets to purchasing something easy to just add to a table. My recommendation is to use this amazing cheesecloth that is already in strips and can easily but cut to fit any table. Found HERE.

The other option is, like I said, cut up some old fabric, or sheets, to run along your tablescape. Also, table runners at your go-to store are not outrageous and can totally be used as an everyday runner on your table, LOVING this one.

Element Number 2: Seasonal Accent

This one should be SO easy because I bet you already purchased at least 10 pumpkins, gourds, pine cones etc. Just add a coupe to the middle of the table for dinner! If you did not purchase any of these items then I literally encourage you to take a walk around your neighborhood and find gorgeous leaves and foliage to sprinkle along the middle.

And if like me, you have no time for any of the above then…. Click here

Element Number 3: Light

LET THERE BE LIGHT!!! I found this 5 pack of votives at West Elm that I mixed in with other candles that I already had that will just add a delicious scent and some candlelight to the table. But just grab any candles you have lying around and mix and match to add some light down the middle.

Once you’re able to pull these three together, just add them to your table. If you’re serving family-style? No problem! Just condense elements 2 and 3 to clusters along the table to leave room for platters and plates!

Questions? Send me a note! I would love to help you design your tablescape! Otherwise, tag #ECTables so I can see what you created.

Happy Thanksgiving!
