styled shoot. hotel hive.
Today was a big day because I can finally share that my incredible styled shoot with Lauren Louise photography is live on district weddings!! This shoot was the brain child of my great friend Lauren and she brought me on board to help with general coordination and styling. and if you have never worked with lauren - do it. she is a force! and her photography has a living, breathing quality that is just amazing.
A little background ... my role in these shoots is to help the coordinator bring their vision to life. I help in connecting the right vendors to participate and then I help in styling those vendors so that it all comes together to achieve the coordinator's (usually the photographer's) vision. and Lauren’s vision for this shoot was a dream!
She approached me about doing a styled elopement, which I immediately was drawn to because I had never worked on an elopement before. The venue was picked for the newly opened, hotel hive which is in the foggy bottom neighborhood of Washington, dc (near George Washington university). She already had an idea for some of the vendors she wanted on board, but the rest was up to me. So we worked together to pull local jewels, handbags, outfits, bites and desserts ... and even a vintage car that was a personal touch from a close friend of mine.
And the outcome? AMAZING! It truly was an incredible day working with Daniel and Maggie (who btw are the cutest together) and we were so touched by the vendor team’s attention to detail to really take our theme and direction to heart in their contributions.
